  • Are your grow kits legal?
Our kits are legally sold for research purposes. How? Our kits do not contain any traceable amounts of psilocybin as the psilocybin is produced as the mushrooms grow... And whatever your research entails is none of our business! 🤓 🔬 😉 🚀 👽
  • Are these magic mushroom grow kits?
HECK YEAH! Our kits grow Psilocybin Cubensis Psychedelic Magic Mushrooms.
  • How big is the Zoombag grow kit?
About the size of a shoe box.
  • Do I need a grow light?
Nope! A grow light is not necessary, nor will it make a difference. All you need is a room with a window looking to the outdoors. Ambient light from a nearby window is really all you need!
  • What kind of growing environment do I need?
Our customers typically use a living room / bedroom book shelf, higher up where the temperature is slightly above room temperature. A room with a window. Please note that your chosen room should be cleaned regularly, disinfected and free of dust. If your home is dusty, a bathroom is a good location as they are easier to keep clean and disinfect. They are smaller so less dust can be blown about. Dust could contain contaminates that could spoil the Zoombag.
  • What temperature should my chosen growing room/environment be?
A consistent 22-26 degrees celsius is optimal for growth. Any temperature under 22 degrees will result in slower growth, and any temperature higher than 26 degrees will likely result in a contamination, which will cease all hope for any mushrooms to grow.
  • How long will my Zoombag take to grow the first mushrooms?
Typically you will see signs of mushrooms within 5-15 days of setting up your kit, with 8 days being most common.
  • How long will my grow kit last?
All our grow kits can grow mushrooms continuously for 1.5-3 months. Our kits produce multiple harvests, and if you are very clean and respectful to your kit, it could last for months! We have seen kits last over 4 months long producing a new harvest of mushrooms every 1-2 weeks!
  • How many mushrooms will my kit yield?
On average the ZoomBag produces 2-3 oz. of mushrooms when dried. Depending on the strain and size of the mushroom, this weight could be hundreds of mushrooms.
  • Do I need to water my Zoombag like a plant?
NO! Please don't do this. Your Zoombag is hydrated with water upon arrival, it will use this water over the course of a few weeks so you don't have to worry about that! From time to time you will want to mist the inside of your bag, but that is just to keep the humidity levels up for your mushroom babies.
  • I am going away, will my Zoombag be okay left alone?
You can leave your Zoombag unattended for 1-2 weeks if you really must! We recommend no longer than a week though. As long as your temperatures are in check, you have your ambient light source, you leave after the setup steps are complete and before a harvest starts growing in... you should have a bag full of mushrooms when you get back! All that said... Avoid leaving your Zoombag unattended for best results.
  • How do I dry the mushrooms?
You simply place them on a paper towel in a dry room. They will take 3-10 days to dry typically. Storage in a freezer is recommend. For best results, use a dehydrator... Amazon sells cheap ones that are great!
  • This all looks very complicated and overwhelming, I don't think I can grow mushrooms... Are you sure this is easy?
We can assure you that this process is actually very simple. The people that usually fail at this process are the ones that overcomplicate the process and do unnecessary things thinking they will help the mushrooms grow. If you have a room 22-26 degrees with a window, you are capable of growing with a Zoombag! Just set it up in that room and poke holes in the bag. Leave the bag and be patient! Eventually you will see mushrooms growing.
  • How do I spot any potential contaminations?
Contamination usually comes in the form of: - Green trichoderma mold. This is a bright green mold that spreads FAST. Once present it will likely over take your bag in just a couple days. - Yellow mold, kind of like trichoderma but bright yellow. - Cobweb mold. This can be mistaken for mycelium, but mycelium smells like fresh mushrooms and cobweb mold smells like mold you may find in an attic covered in cobwebs! Remember mycelium is the good stuff. - If there is too much moisture, IE. from water pooling, a bacterial contamination can form. This is when bacteria grows in the water that was pooling and it will eventually infect the mycelium, ultimately ruining the grow kit. Always make sure there is NO pooling water! You do not need to worry about the following: - Fuzzy white stuff at the base of your mushrooms. This is just mycelium, the good stuff! - Fizzy white stuff on the top of your mushrooms. This is just mycelium, the good stuff! - Blue. Blue is usually a sign of mycelium bruising, which is jsut fine. The blue is the colour of psilocybin, the active compound in magic mushrooms. HOW CAN I SAVE MY BAG FROM A CONTAMINATION?! - Saving a bag from contamination is possible but rare. - If you see a contamination, with a clean sterile utensil, cut out the contamination from your mycelium block. - Heavily salt the area and all around the perimeter. This will stop the spread. By this time its usually too late and the microscopic mold spores have spread and will start to germinate and develop mold in other parts of the mycelium. The salt can at least slow this process and you may still get some mushrooms out of it!

  • Why are mushrooms only growing around the edges of my Zoombag?
This usually happens when the center of the Zoombag is dry and the edges are moist, usually because the plastic bag against the mycelium acts as a barrier to keep moisture in that area. Try to replicate that kind of moisture int he center of the bag by misting more often.
  • Should I use gloves or wash my hands when I am handling my Zoombag?
YES! The best thing to do would be use gloves and wash your hands with the gloves on, then use 99% isopropyl on them. If you don't have gloves this is okay, wash your hands with hot soapy water and then use 99% isopropyl after to kill any bacteria leftover. If you don't have isopropyl, wash your hands TWICE with hot soapy water. Better to get some 99% isopropyl or strong hand sanitizer though.
  • My mushrooms aren't growing all at once, did i do something wrong?
No! This is normal. Unlike many plants, mushrooms grow sporadically / individually at their own rate. This means some will be ready to harvest, while others are just starting to grow!
